Isabella's parents are divorced. She lives part of the week with her African American dad and his new girlfriend (soon to be wife) and her son in a fancy mini-mansion. The other part of the week is with her white mother in the house she grew up in and her new boyfriend. Her life is a blend of races and places and she simply feels divided.
